Occupation/ Work: East TN Public Television

I am employed by East Tennessee Public Television (ETPtv), where I work in the development department doing corporate and community relations work.

Related Experience...

Over the past several decades I have served on the following: the Knox County Retirement and Pension Board; two terms on the County Commission (1990-1998); and am in my second term on the Knox County School Board (2002- present).  During this time, I have worked with budgets approaching half a billion dollars.  Thus am in a unique position to understand not only how important it is to collect county revenues in an efficient and effective manner but also, once collected, not to waste this money with bad business decisions.  

Three Reasons to Vote for Robert...

Look no further than the three things I pledge to do the first day on the job....

1. First, I would inform the Mayor, Law Director and Superintendent of Schools that the school system will no longer be charged the Trustee’s commission.
   
   

2. Second, I would inform all outside attorneys that their services will no longer be needed to collect delinquent taxes, a job that should be done by the County Law Director, saving the tax payers hundreds of thousands of dollars after expenses.
   
   

3. Third, I would meet with the staff and inform them that in my opinion the office is five to seven people over staffed and we need to deal with that problem over the next year with a combination of retirements and attrition by helping employees to find new jobs in Knox County government or the private sector.
