Reasons to Vote for Mike...
Mike's Thoughts On... Knox County Schools:
Property Taxes: County Commission needs to carefully screen proposed budgets to insure the taxpayers are getting the services they need, not necessarily all they ask for, at the lowest tax rate possible. I also support the property tax relief for our Senior citizens. Development: All County business leaders should share their expertise to the committees responsible for bringing new businesses to our area that will produce jobs and revenue. Also County and city planners need to work more with the individual communities to implement responsible zoning development.
Environment: Currently our solid waste system has a good recycling program that can be expanded to reduce the adverse effect on our environment. We need to also monitor factory emissions and encourage improvements that will enhance the air we breathe. Developers need to be more closely monitored when the change the topography of our lands. More concrete and asphalt creates more runoff and pollutants that reach our streams and rivers.
