About Evelyn.... Occupation: Special Education Teacher
My qualifications include more than 13 years of community development
and volunteer service in Knox County. I have a Master's degree in
Public Administration from Rutgers University and a Bachelor's in
Political Science from Tougaloo College. I am currently serving my
4th year as a Special Education Teacher with Knox County Schools.

Resources allocated for Technology Improvements
Also, developing a plan that address both the rigors of academic success
(curriculum) and employability skills for students entering the
workforce
Property Taxes:
Qualified freeze for senior citizens
Develop a concrete and sustainable plan that address absentee owners..
Revenue is not being generated from property that is vacant or
substandard
Comprehensive assessment of the value of homes that is not inflationary
Make sure tax dollars are spent efficiently with duplication
Development:
Sustainable Economic Revitalization
Making sure the plan that is being developed for the Magnolia Corridor
has citizen input on the planning phase
Develop a study regarding the environmental impact I-40
improvements will have on Magnolia Ave.
Economic revitalization that combines accessibility to resources,
jobs/training and an enhancement in community value
Clean, safe neighborhoods that maximizes community development
Access to public transportation
Revitalization that maximizes existing resources such as PSTCC,
Chilhowee Park, Downtown, etc.
Develop a technology corridor with access to the Internet,etc.
Environment:
Accessible and Responsive Government
The 1st District needs a professional, educated and civic minded
Commissioner that will be accessible, progressive and representative of
the people in this district.
