Cash Flow and Investment Experience...

 

I have 18 years of hands-on experience in the Knox County Trustee's Office. I  know the office.

 

Knox county will collect over $ 220 million dollars in Property taxes this fiscal year. We will receive an additional $300 Million dollars in State and Federal money (sales tax and education money) as well as other fees and revenue.

 

    I have a degree in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi.  I am a member of the TGFOA, Tennessee Government Finance Officers Association, which is a professional organization that advances the training of individuals in Financial positions in local and state governments.

1. My 18 years of service in the Trustee's Office have been all about common sense.  I want to make the Trustee's Office accessible to taxpayers to ask questions, get answers, and make payments. The easier we make paying property taxes, the more money we will collect for Knox County.  I have operated an office with 56 employees and managed them effectively and efficiently.
   
   
2. My training. I am trained and certified by the State of Tennessee for advanced coursework in finance and legal issues for Trustees and I have been trained in Treasury Management Services as well as Fraud Prevention training for banking services. I understand the TIF (Tax Increment Financing) and how it affects the Trustee office.
   
   
3. My investment experience, I am a member of the Knox County Investment Committee,  The purpose of the committee is to evaluate and purpose investments for Knox County.  Also, I was a member of the banking services committee for Knox County.  The purpose was to evaluate and recommend a banking institution for Knox County.
   
   
   Audits of the Knox County Trustees Office did not have any negative findings.
