About Dave...

Occupation/ Work: Retired Operations Manager

Early retiree from AT&T as Operations  Supervisor in the Magnolia Av. Building,  Downtown Knoxville

Three Reasons to Vote for Dave...

  1. I am not an employee of Knox County, no family members employed by Knox County, don't need county employment for income, no financial ties to Knox County government, no friends or family seeking County employment, and no business relationships that would presently or in the future benefit from political influence.

  2. A Business Degree from the University of Tennessee and the lifetime experience at AT&T that will be a asset in making decisions in how policy on schools, services and development are implemented.

  3. Develop a plan to bring greater unity within the 8th District so that the 8th District will continue to improve.

Dave's Thoughts On...

Knox County Schools:

The largest part of the budget is education. I will help in the search for and implementation of improvement within the system.  I will have Carter Elementary and Gibbs Middle as a priority.

Property Taxes:

Has no short comments or thoughts. For the individual, the bottom line is what do you want and how much will you pay. The county government is much the same, it's just very difficult to reach agreement. Consensus on  more service or less service translates in to more
tax or less tax. Collecting and representing the views of the voters is the key to effectiveness.

Development:

The County is growing, the area is such a good place to be that people show up every day.  So that, change is ever upon us. Let's continue to grow, there is a plan in place, let's follow it.  If the development or sector plan needs to be changed...... get it  out in the open and work it out.

Environment:

Last but not least. What's around us was here first. There has to be responsible consideration given to maintain our resources not just for us but all those yet to come. Just like any component of a project, say it's a cost of doing business.
